In my second CO-OP term, working at Klipfolio, I got to see how my work actually made a difference in a live product. I got to work on add-ons and bugs which would improve the customers experience when using Klipfolio’s SAAS application offered on the web and now through mobile.
I was hired simply as a Software Developer and would work on bugs and features assigned to me at somewhat of a junior/intermediate level.
Klipfolio’s application stack at the time had me working with:
- Grails and Groovy (Java based – Similar to Rails and Ruby/MVC)
- jQuery
- HTML
- CSS/LESS
- Mocha JS (Unit tests)
I also worked heavily with the following software:
- YouTrack
- Git
- GitLab
- Slack
- IntelliJ IDE
Working on these bugs and features, I learnt that clean and reusable code was key in a big software project. I would keep some of these solutions and functions stored in function pages to be reused.
Bugs and Features I worked on include the following:
FEATURE – QuickBooks API connector

FEATURE – Buffer API connector (NO PIC)
BUG – Loading stop + Delay on My Klips loading

BUG – Tour Re-Opening on some logins

FEATURE – Form Validation

BUG – Wrong Expiration dates in email

BUG – Deleting Partner Companies:

Klipfolio still has that startup feel and offers a comfortable Agile environment to learn from other developers.
I would recommend any developer to work there and even customers with a constant need to view important data to use their product.
