House of Commons Work

Winter 2015 was spent doing my first CO-OP term and I got to work as a web developer for the House of Commons.

The Committees pages of the House were to be renewed into a responsive design which we developed from scratch.

I used several languagues, an MVC architectural pattern and worked in VIsual Studio 2013:

  • HTML/VBHTML
  • VB .NET
  • ASP .NET MVC 4
  • JavaScript/JQuery
  • CSS/LESS

Being a new project, I got to work solely on features and my own bugs. Among the components I developed:

Timeline Navigation Menu

  • This would allow you to change Parliament Sessions.

hoc

sessionarchivebar-onclick-mobile-1

archive-progress

Accordion Menu:

meetings-accordion

Drop-down Search Box:

dropdown-search

dropdownsearch-desktop

The new responsive layout for the Committees pages is live.

My Timeline Navigation Menu is still there.

All Committees should have it on their page

It will display: 42nd Parliament, 1st Session. Including info about Justin Trudeau’s Parliament at this time and allowing you to change Sessions.
