Always looking for projects to get into, I would take my first opportunity to develop a website for a local business. I had been approached by a friend for my services in creating a website for his hair dresser and I took it. After meeting with the hairdresser, he was unsure of what he really wanted but it mainly had to display some of his work and his availability.
Having only his business card and the colors he wanted, I was able to work my front-end design skills in creating a custom theme for his salon. All I would need is a simple management system to offer a one-page design with content. WordPress’ CMS would allow me to do so and integrate my custom modifications to a theme.
